So, what’s my story?

“An absolute professional and a real positive and sunny presence on the day.”

I’ve spent my life trying to do what makes me happy. Shortly after my 17th birthday, I used money I’d saved from a waitressing job to buy a ticket to Australia. “Oh, by the way, Mum”, I casually dropped into conversation, “I’m going to Australia in 10 days.”

“What, on your own?”, she replied, fear setting in.

“Yeh, obviously!”

I spent the following three months chasing the sun, drinking far too much *ahem* fruit juice, and embarking on my first holiday romance.

Life was sweet.

When I got back, I chased my thespian dream to drama school and spent the next ten years acting and waitressing in equal measures. Somehow I managed to bag roles that took me to all four corners of our beautiful isle, and even got a couple of wee jollies overseas.

Touring to China was an absolute highlight (despite my ineptitude at using chopsticks) and confirmed my love of meeting and sharing stories with awesome people.

But then I hit the ripe old age of 30, panicked and thought, ‘I need to get a sensible job. I know, I’ll become a teacher.’ Fast forward 3 years and a global pandemic, and it turns out I’m not that into sensible jobs.

What, I wondered, would help me meet awesome, like-minded people, allow me to travel a bit, and most importantly, let me give back to my community?

Cut to a deep and meaningful with my old pal and celebrant babe, Rona the Humanist (if you don’t know about her, check her out here) and my celebrant journey began.

Now I’m living near Inverness with my lovely man, and trying to live a life that’s led by joy. I am so chuffed to be doing something that I love and spending my time with great people in amazing places.

Long may it continue.
